As you can see, PRINCE2 is the most complex visually, although this is not necessarily the case in practice.
I’ve inferred the use of the Directing stage in the PMP, Process Based and Common Sense methodologies, however, this is not an actual stage, it is merely there to represent the role of any Project Sponsors or a Project Board that feature in the earlier stages of the PRINCE2 methodology.
From my own experience the Project Directors do not always feature in their own stage, they play a significant role in my daily project management activities. The Directors & Sponsors are not top-down in terms of methodology but top down in terms of decision making, especially at Gate or Stage reviews.
